Sir,
I am 42 and I am a software professional with 10 years experience in oracle. I am out of job due to recession from 2007. So now instead of continuing for Oracle job, I am thinking of starting a catering business. I have some cooking experience. I have some hotel exp, I am good at communication, I love cooking. Is this enough for starting a catering business ? I know I have to start from small and go for big.
Thanks in advance.

Sir, my father has just started a catering business in our small town. We have even provided catering services in 3 marriages, 2 small parties. There is a 7 day program ahead followed by a marriage. We are still renting the utensils but at a low cost. We are even hiring the cooks (halwaais) for a day or two. So I needed to know that is this the right time to buy our utensils and keep 2-3 cooks along with us on a whole serving basis.

I want to start a catering business, but my problem is that from where I can get fresh vegetables I have seen that most catering business collapsed in unavailability of vegetables, can you give me few tips to get fresh and quality vegetables on regular basis?

My advice would be to start small, catering for local events and parties using a limited product range to begin with. As you budget grows you can use it to encompass a greater range of catering supplies. You should start studying and analysing data of different catering firms so that you can get better idea.
Thank you.
