Dentist takes care of oral hygiene. The job of a dentist includes treatment of affected mouths and gums; cleaning of the teeth and mouth, fillings teeth cavities; extraction of teeth; mouth surgery and jaw; replacement of extracted teeth through surgery or other processes; straightening teeth alignments; dentures, routine check-ups to assess the condition of the mouth and teeth etc.

Scope of Dentist Jobs in India
Dentists in India can get jobs in places associated with oral treatment. These include dental departments in hospitals, dental clinics, nursing homes, and health departments. A dentist can also get good openings in teaching departments of dental colleges. Pharmaceutical companies also offer good job opportunities to dentists. The Research wing of these companies needs the assistance of those having thorough knowledge of the dentistry to provide valuable inputs n the products like toothpaste, mouth wash, gum care products, and even oral medicines.  Many companies even appoint them in advisory functions.

Most dentists in India find self-employment as a good alternative career. Before starting on one’s own it is always better to gain experience. This helps to boost confidence as well. • Dental Assistant Jobs
  Those who are fresh pass outs can start their careers as Dental Assistants. Their job is to help the dentist carry out various procedures such as clean and scale teeth, place temporary fillings, does other specific tasks including taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays), sterilizing instruments and equipment and making impressions of patients’ teeth etc.
• Dental Hygienist Jobs
  A hygienist is supposed to take care of general oral health in patients. The job includes cleaning teeth, removing plaque and taking x-rays of teeth. A dental hygienist also diagnoses certain dental conditions as well as makes patients aware about proper oral hygiene.
• Dental Nurse Jobs
  A dental nurse job is to take care of all patients who come for the treatment. She always helps and stands beside the doctor while treatment is going on. Sometimes dental nurse also work as a receptionist for attending phone calls for appointments, dealing with paper work for patients record etc. In this way she work as a part of a dental team.
• Dental Technician Jobs
  A dental technician’s job is to make different types of devices and equipments used by dentist for dental treatment. Generally dental technicians have to work in a laboratory.  A dentist places an order with the technician when there is need for any particular devices in the clinic.
